Mahagaonkar Associates as an architectural firm was started in 1989 in Gulbarga by Architects P. S. Mahagaonkar and Nalini Mahagaonkar. What began as a small practice, built from the ground up with no external support, has grown into a respected name across North Karnataka. Over the past four decades, the firm has delivered several landmark projects, many institutional, public, commercial, and residential projects, guided by a deep sense of purpose, functionality, and design integrity. In 2018, the firm expanded its presence with a branch office in Hubli, further strengthening its commitment to serve clients across regions.

Today, under the leadership of Ar. Prateek Mahagaonkar, the firm continues to uphold its founding values while embracing a modern design approach. Each project is treated as a new challenge—an opportunity to deliver better, more thoughtful spaces that respond to their context and user needs. With a legacy rooted in hard work, collaboration, and resilience, Mahagaonkar Associates remains dedicated to creating architecture that is enduring, meaningful, and shaped with care.

Founder's Note

We began Mahagaonkar Associates back in 1989, solely on our passion for architecture, a deep belief in our values, and a shared commitment to build something meaningful. Every project we undertook came with its own challenges, but we saw each one as an opportunity to raise our own standards and deliver something better than before.

As husband and wife, balancing both our professional and personal lives was never easy. There were long days, difficult decisions, and moments of uncertainty. Yet through all the struggles, what kept us moving forward was our unwavering dedication—not just to our work, but to each other. We complemented one another, supported each other through the toughest times, and worked in complete harmony. Our vision was clear: to grow steadily and establish a firm that would one day be known for its integrity, quality, and design excellence.

Looking back, we feel immense gratitude—for the journey, the people who believed in us, and the countless lessons learned along the way.
